AERIAL CLASSES
Aerial classes are a great way to get fit fast whilst having fun!
Training on aerial equipment works pretty much every muscle in the body. Your arms – wrists, forearms, biceps, triceps and shoulders will all get a workout. Legs, quads, adductors & abductors, calves, ankles will all be hard at it. It is also an amazing workout for your back and your abdominals and it strengthens your core as you work.
You don’t need any experience to be able to give aerial classes a go as they focus on good technique, conditioning and elements of performance with the equipment.
Aerial silks
Aerial silk or tissu is a type of performance in which one or more artists perform aerial acrobatics while hanging from a special fabric.
A length of material is rigged from the ceiling, giving you a tool to climb, create figures, perform tricks and stunts and generally have a play! The variety of moves, drops, wraps, twists and turns are practically endless and create an ever intriguing challenge! Aerial silks may be used to fly through the air, striking poses and figures while flying. Aerial Silks works pretty much every muscle in the body. Your arms – wrists, forearms, biceps, triceps and shoulders will all get a workout. Legs, quads, adductors & abductors, calves, ankles will all be hard at it. And as if that’s not enough, Aerial Silks is an amazing workout for your back and your abdominals and it strengthens your core as you work.You don’t need any experience to be able to give Aerial Silks a go. Aerial hoop
The aerial hoop (also known as the lyra, aerial ring or cerceau) is a circular steel apparatus rigged from the ceiling, giving you the opportunity to execute dynamic tricks, spins and swings! The hoop provides the perfect frame for an endless variety of balances, transitions and routines. Aerial Hoop classes are great for building strength, stamina and increasing flexibility. A full class will give your whole body a good workout but when it comes to your core muscles and your upper body strength – nothing even comes close.
Aerial Straps
Aerial straps is a circus discipline that combines strength and gymnastic elements to create incredible routines featuring unbelievable twists, turns, and positions.
It is a demanding discipline, and we advise that you have some former experience or training with your own body weight before giving this a go.
In this class you will learn beginner straps positions and skills, as well as conditioning exercises to help you build strength.
Expect slow but extremely rewarding progressions as you focus on firing on specific muscle groups at exact moments to perform switches and holds.
Static trapeze
Coming soon! Static trapeze, also known as fixed trapeze, is a type of circus art performed on the trapeze. In contrast to the other forms of trapeze, on static trapeze the bars and ropes mainly stay in place.A single artist will do tricks above and below the bar, the ropes playing just as important a part as the bar. A partner act will involve the partners working together — supporting each other’s weight, throwing, lifting and catching each other.Participants will develop stamina, determination and self belief and master the core moves necessary to progress their aerial skills to the next level. Static trapeze is a great way to start learning some aerial technique but bare in mind learning the advance trapeze movement is not a picnic! Class will cover moves, transitions and drop alongside some strength exercise to increase your abilities.Never tried it before? Don’t worry, this trapeze lesson is suitable for adult beginners – no experience necessary.
Aerial slings
Coming soon! Take Aerial Yoga to the next level! Silk slings are large slings of silk hanging from the ceiling and forming a giant swing allowing you to create a variety of figures, moves and challenging shapes. This class is a great introduction to Aerial Fitness for absolute beginners.
You don’t need any previous experience to try Aerial Slings. In fact, it is a great introduction to Aerial Fitness as the sling provides excellent support while you concentrate on getting your arms and legs in the right place!
Aerial Slings works the whole body and is especially beneficial for your core, thereby improving posture and stability whilst gradually opening up the body and safely progressing into more advanced stretches.
