Antonio Alba – Circus Artist

Antonio Alba, an Italian Circus Artist based in London, started practicing circus disciplines in 2017 in an Aerial Academy in Modena (ArtEquilibra), specializing in Aerial silks.

This passion became more and more important when he became a regular performer in theatres, festivals and nightclubs in Italy, as solo circus artist and as duo on silks and hoop.

In 2019 he moved to London where he had the opportunity to train regularly at the National Centre for Circus Arts meeting all the amazing people of the London Circus community, and he fell in love with straps.

He became obsessed with this discipline and pushed himself to upskill in both static, dynamic and spinning movements, attending several workshops and privates with many international strap artists and performing in many venues and events in UK and Italy.

Antonio has a deep knowledge of the principles of physics applied to the circus disciplines, because he is also a mechanical engineer and he likes to think that his circus journey is a “continuous improvement process focused on discovering the most natural and effective movements, blending expressivity with power”.

In addition to his performance work, he is the advanced silks and straps teacher at Aerialand and leads workshops across London and internationally (the most recents workshops were at the Oak Circus in Norwich, at SkyHighAerial in Surrey and at Soleil Acrobatica in Italy).
